Make the holidays brighter for those in need through Toys for Tots

Drop-off an unwrapped gift at Brookhaven City Hall

Brookhaven, GA, Dec. 3, 2024 --- Help those less fortunate during the holiday season through the annual Marine Corps Toys for Tots program. Once again, residents can drop off donations for Toys for Tots through Dec. 19 at Brookhaven City Hall at 4362 Peachtree Road NE in Brookhaven. New, unwrapped toys can be dropped off between the hours of 8:30 a.m. and 5 p.m. Toys will be accepted until Friday, Dec. 20.

The Marine Toys for Tots Program has been delivering a message of hope to less fortunate youngsters since 1947. Over 70 years, 677 million toys have been distributed to 301 million children through this heartwarming program. When you donate to the Marine Toys for Tots Foundation, you are giving less fortunate children hope - and a reason to believe in their future. Instead of that fruitcake, consider donating to Toys for Tots this season in recognition of your clients, business associates, family members or friends.

The following are guidelines from Toys for Tots:

• New and unwrapped toys appropriate for boys and girls from newborn to 12 years old are welcomed.   
• Program administrators note that they always run short of toys for ages 0 to 2 and 10 and older. Suggested toys for the older children include makeup kits, hair dryers, watches, colognes, perfumes, basketballs, footballs and other sporting equipment.  
• Bicycles are always in very high demand and supplies never meet this demand. Please keep in mind that a bicycle cannot be distributed without a helmet.
