Oktoberfest Special Dinner Menu at Petite Violette

Description

This holiday menu features traditional German and Bavarian appetizers, entrees, sides and dessert (in addition to the regular dinner menu). Items range from $9 to $30 and pair well with the featured draft Warsteiner Oktoberfest Beer.
 
The Oktoberfest appetizers, ranging in price from $9 to $15, include a Swiss Style Wurstsalat comprised of thinly sliced fleischwurst, gruyere cheese, onions and pickles, in a tangy vinaigrette dressing. Also, there is a MÖRNSHEIM Pretzel Platter featuring a jumbo pretzel served with salami, fleischwurst, spreadable tea wurst, pickles, radish and mustard. A Beef Goulash Soup rounds out the starters. It is founder Chef Wolfgang’s recipe of house-made beef stew flavored with paprika and spices.           
           
Entrée selections, priced at $24 to $30, offer hearty portions of meat complimented by two side starches or vegetables. These gourmet main courses include: marinated German Sauerbraten (slow-braised, marinated beef short rib), roasted Petite Schweinshaxe (pork shank), pan-seared Wiener Schnitzel (breaded veal), sautéed Jaeger schnitzel (veal in cream sauce), and the crowd favorite Bavarian Platter, featuring bratwurst, smoked weiner and pork schnitzel.
 
Two sides accompany each entrée. The choices are: potato pancake, spaetzle, Bavarian dumpling, whipped potatoes, red cabbage, sauerkraut and asparagus.
                                                                                                     
Home-baked Apple Strudel with vanilla bean ice cream, priced at $9, tops it all off, for dessert. The entire menu is available every Monday through Saturday night at dinner (the restaurant is closed on Sundays).
