Renée Areng will be presenting a “State of the Industry” update, including the industry’s economic impact of more than $79.7 billion and support of more than 463,483 jobs.
Renée serves as President & CEO at Explore Brookhaven, the City of Brookhaven’s Destination Management Organization. In this role, she and her team works with all members of our community to enhance the image, awareness, and magnetism of the City of Brookhaven.

Renée Areng's Bio
CDME, President & CEO, Explore Brookhaven
Renée Areng is the President & CEO of Explore Brookhaven, where she has led the city's destination marketing efforts since 2018. A Certified Destination Marketing Executive (CDME), Areng brings decades of experience leading and consulting with tourism organizations across the Southeast, including Visit Mississippi Gulf Coast, Visit Baton Rouge, and several regional CVBs.
Known for driving growth in visitation, unifying brand messaging, and leading organizations through accreditation, she has consulted on strategic planning and tourism development for destinations such as South Walton, Louisiana’s Northshore, and Visit Mobile.
Areng holds a BA in Public Administration and French from the University of Louisiana and currently serves on the Destinations International Board of Trustees.
