This forum's theme “Addressing Violence in Fulton County” will continue the discussions about gangs, dating violence, mental health and depression that began at the October 2015 FDHA 4th Annual Health Summit. The summit focused on addressing the issues of violence and sharing of resources and solutions to reduce violence throughout Fulton and DeKalb counties. This event is open to the public, so please share with your friends and colleagues. Registration is required: - please click here to register - Fulton County Commissioner Marvin S. Arrington, Jr. will act as moderator for the Adult Forum a conversation about “Learning to Detect & Deter Violence in Fulton County.” Other participants include: James B. Hurley, Jr., Safe Streets Gang Task Force, FBI Atlanta Division Vonetta West, King Center, 365 Program Nancy Flake Johnson, President/CEO, Urban League Atlanta Mary Frances Bowley, President, WellSpring Living Jennifer Swain, Deputy Director, YouthSpark Dr. Omar Danner, Associate Professor of Surgery, Morehouse School of Medicine and Surgeon, Grady Memorial Hospital Dr. R.J. Verwayne of Standard of Care Psychological Services will act as moderator for the Youth Forum a conversation about “Facts for Teens: Youth Violence - Too Young to Die.” Topics include bullying, dating violence, gang violence, and depression and suicide.
