SUMMARY:Hot Pursuit 5k Race and Tot Trot
DESCRIPTION:Join the Brookhaven Police Department for the 2nd Annual Brookhaven Hot-Pursuit 5K Run & Tot-Trot on Saturday\, Sept. 12. ALL proceeds from the race go directly into the police department's "Shop with a Badge" Christmas program for underprivileged kids in the area. In partnership with the Brookhaven Boys & Girls Club and Target\, participating children are accompanied by a police officer\, deputy sheriff\, firefighter\, 911 dispatcher and other public safety volunteers to select items from their Christmas list. Each has a $200 limit. Last year the department took 46 kids shopping and hopes to double that amount this year.\n\n\nThe route is the same course as last year\, beginning on Peachtree Road near Dresden Drive and will go through Ashford Park and end behind the MARTA station on Apple Valley Road.\n\nParticipants can register at Active.com.
